Who is behind the scenes at 
HAZEL & CO. AND JOOLS?
An interview with Chic Walks.  

1) You are?
Susan Heyes, proud mom, and the owner of HAZEL&CO and JOOLS - designer of locally made lifestyle collections for women, and we specialize in fabulous maternity wear.  
 
2) In a nutshell, what do you do?
We provide lovely spaces to find the best fitting most comfortable clothes for everyday, and for special events. My focus is to beautifully meet the needs of my customers, and support small independent local businesses.
 
3) You are a designer, describe the clothes you design.
I choose soft, comfortable fabrics that have some stretch, and create unique clothes that really work. Our bamboo/cotton fabric for tees and dresses is just right. Great fitting pants are essential, and we offer every style – straight leg, skinny, wide leg, cuffed, boot cut – in stretch fabrics that shape you in all the right places. Wearing clothes that fit you, are comfortable, that function well, and are constructed with care gives you confidence – the bonus is that you look amazing, too.
 
4) Tell us about Jools, your newest boutique in Dunbar
Jools is named after my darling daughter. We wanted to have some fun bringing carefully chosen clothing, jewelery and accessories for women of all ages, to another local neighbourhood. Jools has a huge selection of great fitting denim, and fashion pieces for every occasion including maternity styles.
 
5) What is your personal fashion style? 
My wardrobe must be uncomplicated and versatile. I like my clothes to be well put together, in beautiful fabrics – to move with me with no fuss. I have to be comfortable, and wear pieces that suit my busy life. I really love boots, and wear them with almost everything. I live in what I design and make.
 
6) What would you like to say to your customers?
There are no rules – dress however makes you feel comfortable. We want you to have fun finding the perfect fit, and we'll help you look and feel fabulous!
